It is important to get Nevada's finances under control.

With the Fed printing more and more money, our money will purchase less and less until prices are so high that the state will have to cut services and we will be unable to afford food and shelter.

Nevada must reduce its spending. We must balance and reduce the state's budget. Some states are out of control and will experience rioting and looting. It will not be safe to live in those states.

It is important that the next Nevada legislative session reduce the budget to prevent our state from having these problems.

The Federal Reserve's Dual Mandate

I read an article today that stated that
We are all aware that the Fed has a dual mandate of stable prices and maximum employment. But what may come as a surprise to most is that they have a distinct preference in their mandates. The Federal Reserve under Ben Bernanke has a clear bias toward fulfilling the goal of maximum employment.
Looking at those two mandates, I would say that the Fed has been a miserable failure. In fact, the Fed has been a failure at everything except printing money and causing inflation.

Federal Deficit reduction, Ron Paul style

This article by Jacob Sullum appeared in the Review Journal today.

It stated that
This week, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, unveiled a plan to cut nearly that much in 2013 alone, followed by similar cuts in the next two years, yielding a balanced budget by 2015.

I believe that it should get more media attention. At the Republican Debate in Las Vegas, Ron Paul mentioned his plan, but it was ignored and everyone was talking about the 9-9-9 plan

Our standard of living is falling fast.

Here's a fact: America's standard of living is falling at a faster pace today than at any time since the Great Depression. Specifically, the real median income is down 9.8% since the fall of 2008. Additionally, Americans have lost roughly $5.5 trillion in asset value, or about 8.6% of their wealth.

When you talk about a depression, what you're really talking about is a collapse in the standard of living. That's what's happening today, right now, in our country.

The 2 party system has put us in this mess. It is time to elect qualified people from other parties.

I haven't posted for awhile

I have been very busy the last month so I haven't posted anything in this blog. I have also been very unhappy with the news lately.

Last night, I watched the Republican Presidential Debate in Las Vegas. What a joke! 2 candidates dominated the air time with their arguing. The candidates who really had something to say didn't get enough time.

Ron Paul didn't even get a chance to have a closing statement.

It was obvious to me that the Republican Party wants either Romney or Perry and isn't going to give the others any chance to win the Primary.

Great voting bloc!

Recipients of taxpayer money, including government employees who cannot be fired and have a great pension plan that is bankrupting the country, and welfare recipients who periodically break out in mob violence, are the majority voting bloc of the Democratic party.

The Republicans are no better with business monopolies buying votes.

We need to support the largest third party in each state as is encouraged by the Had Enough Voter Revolt.

A simple explanation of what is happening to our economy.

Credit is money that's been borrowed. In a healthy economy (one with sound money, like gold), credit is limited to savings. That only makes sense, doesn't it? How could you borrow something that someone else hasn't already put aside for the purpose of lending?

Of course… saving is hard. Most people would prefer to have the benefits of credit without the effort of saving. Thus, we have modern economics, which is based on a simple lie: That you can safely expand credit in excess of savings.

But, of course, you cannot create wealth from a printing press. Doing so causes price inflation, asset inflation, a credit collapse – or a mix of all three. Everyone knows this. And yet it seems the entire global political class remains dedicated to pretending otherwise.

When credit is expanded far enough in excess of savings, you get a collapse.
