I am 83 and tired by Bill Cosby

I had seen this before, but I think that it is interesting enough to consider it again. I am only 72, but I know how he feels.

I'm 83 and I'm Tired

I'm 83.Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some some serious
health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take
the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and
daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand , UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives andactions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby makingthemselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 83.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in!

We must legalize the Constitution again.

Year by year, the government is taking away our freedom, liberty, and independence. We must stop the destruction of the Constitution. We must elect legislators who will honor their oath of office and uphold the Constituion. It will soon be to late.

How much Government is necessary? Is the United States Government too powerful?

People tend to believe that governments are necessary, but what are the necessities that a government actually has to provide. What happens when a government fails to provide these necessities or does more than it should at the expense of freedom, liberty, and independence. Governments are created by the people and can be dismantled by the people.

We tend to rationalize that the government is controlled by us and functions for us. However, how many of us really believe that we can actually influence the actions of the government now. Most people want to believe that they are in control, but it is denial designed to help them cope with the feelings of powerlessness.

Just look at what our government does. Does it care about the people or does it concern itself with the interests of a more elite interest group? Are elections just a means of convincing us that we still have control?

Does the government have the right to wield the kind of power that it has accumulated over the years? Shouldn’t a Republic, which the United States was originally, be governed by law. Shouldn’t the Constitution be that law? That was the original plan of the founders of this great country. Shouldn’t we as Americans demand that our government should answer to us?

The last decades have seen legislation and executive orders that have infringed upon our freedom, liberty, and independence. The United States is becoming a police state. It is time to ask yourselves how what rights and what freedoms that you are willing to give away. Ask yourselves how many rights and freedoms will be taken away when you have given up any chance of retaining them.

The government wants to know everything about you and everything that you are doing. In the past, it has used suspicion of criminal activity to monitor your actions and review your personal records without any criminal charges being filed.

Now, it is using the “war on terror” to invade our privacy to levels that were never thought possible just a few decades ago. “Big Brother” is here and is becoming more and more powerful and invasive.

As a Republic, the United States has the ideal that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. However, now it seems that everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Everyone is a suspect and must be under surveillance until they are proven innocent. No organization or individual should have this power.

Monitoring everything we do, is just the start of a program to eliminate criticism. If the people even think that they are being monitored, they will begin to censor themselves for fear of being targeted or arrested. Our free speech guaranteed in the Constitution will be taken from us voluntarily.

The government is succeeding in stopping any protests using legislation and intimidation. Soon, you will not be able to use your vote to stop it.

In addition to controlling our ability to protest and speak out, the government is also controlling our finances. The Federal Reserve is destroying the dollar and putting our nation deeper into debt. Despite the public being opposed to the bailouts, the government went ahead despite the fact that it was ruining the finances of the people.

The passage of the NDAA is the first step in removing all rights of the people. Americans can now be imprisoned or even killed without a trial. The is exactly what government needs to get complete control. It doesn’t need to convince a jury that you are innocent. It can do whatever it want without fear of anyone.

According to the Constitution, only Congress can declare war. Why is it that since, the last time Congress declared war for World War II, we have had 5 wars and are facing a sixth?

Why has Obama quickly and quietly signed the Executive Order for National Defense Resources Preparedness?

The power to start wars and to control the county with martial law is the power to force the people to work for the government to support the state with these wars. For all intents and purposes, we will be the slaves of the government.

Why are we afraid of terrorists when the government is destroying our lives by taking away the freedom, liberty, and independence that our forefathers and our veterans give up their lives to obtain and defend? I fear that we have to fear our government more than the terrorists.

The question becomes how much freedom, liberty, and independence are we willing to give up in the name of safety.

It is time to vote for third party candidates to send a message that you have had enough.

Voter ID - It's Constitutional

The Review Journal published another letter of mine. It is about the voter ID. Joel Rector wrote a letter to the RJ saying that the voter ID was unconstitutional. It said that the 15th and 19th amendments supported his claim.

I pointed out that they just guaranteed the right to vote regardless of race, color or sex. It didn't say that you didn't have to prove that you were the person who have the right to vote.

Buy American

I received am email yesterday that promoted buying American. What surprised me was that the email pointed out that many things made in the United States are cheaper than those made in China or Mexico.

For example, the email mentioned G.E. 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. Both of these were made out of the USA. The private label items were made in the USA and were cheaper.

We need to look at the label and compare where an item was made and the price. American jobs are at stake.

Education--Big Union, Bigger Money

The article “Big Union, Bigger Money” is the perfect example that we don’t need more money for education, but we need more education for our money.”

This article demonstrates the waste in the educational budget. Administrators and Union Officials are receiving more and more and the teachers are not being rewarded for doing a good job

If Nevada would cut school administrative expenses instead of laying off teachers and if Nevada would stop social promotion in all grades levels, we would see a vast improvement in the education of our children without spending more money.

Since the legislature can only create the budget amount and cannot specify how it should be spent, I suggest that the budget be divided into 2 parts: the administrative budget and the teaching budget. The departments in each budget would be specified. Then cut the administrative budget by about 15% and add 15% to the teaching budget. Put the money where it belongs. Put it in the classroom

Silly me: I tried to open a lemonade stand

The Reveiw Journal Commentary about “Silly me: I tried to open a lemonade stand” demonstrates what is happening in our economy. The government is preventing people from going into business for themselves and earning a living. All the government regulations make it too difficult and costly for someone to go into business to try and support their family and themselves.

While I was canvassing during the 2010 elections, I talked to many people who were unemployed and wanted to go to work for themselves, but couldn’t because of all the government regulation. There were painters, handymen, bookkeepers, beauticians, and many others who could have easily gone to work for themselves, but didn’t have the money to do so

The government should provide opportunities for people to work and support themselves. It shouldn’t create obstacles for them and then have to provide them support welfare and food stamps
