Obamacare and the Supreme Court Decision

I believe that this article demonstrates how we are losing our rights and freedoms given us by the Constitution. According to James Madison Obamacare is illegitimate.

Do we need to increase taxes on the rich?

Warren Buffett has proposed that we tax the "super rich" more because he is willing to pay more taxes to help the county. The Buffett Rule, as it is commonly called, was introduced and defeated in the Senate.

I read an article today that discussed the proposed taxes on the rich. The premise of the article was that the rich spend money on extravagant things like expensive cars, planes, travel, hotel rooms, clothes, yachts, and etc. If you tax the rich which is actually robbing the rich, the government gets the money and it spends the money any way it wants. This causes wasteful allocation of funds.
However, when the rich spend their money, people are employed to make the product or provide the service. For instance, take a first class airline ticket purchased the day of the flight. It might cost thousands of dollars. The rich person who purchased the ticket was willing to pay more for the convenience of waiting until the last minute to buy the ticket, for having a better meal, for having more comfort, and for having better service.

The last minute purchase of this first class ticket helped to reduce the cost of the tickets for the other non first class passengers, helped pay the cost of the plane, help pay the wages of the airline employees, helped to pay for the cost of providing the plane, helped to pay for the cost of servicing the plane, and help to pay the cost of maintaining the airport.

This is the correct way to allocate funds. Products and services that are provided at a price the people are willing to pay will get purchased and supplied. If the people don't want the product or it is too expensive, it will eventually not be supplied.

In addition, taxation tends to discourage investment which would have a negative effect on our already depressed economy. Also many things that the rich purchased that were considered extravagant later become everyday products used daily by all the people, for example computers or cell phones.

Therefore, we should encourage the rich to spend more money and not increase their taxes. Increased taxes will only reduce their spending and encourage them to horde instead of invest and spend. If people like Warren Buffett feel that they should pay more taxes, they can just send more money to the IRS. I am sure that the IRS will accept it. Better yet they could just donate more to various charitable organizations which would directly benefit the less fortunate helped by that charity.

Vote like your life depends on it because it does.

In the last 4 months, we have had  the NDAA bill signed into law which allows arrest and imprisonment of Americans without a trial, CISPA which allow the government access to our private emails and other internet information has passed the House. and the Supreme Court rule that strip searches were legal even if you have never been convicted of a crime.

We are losing our freedom and independence. It has to be stopped.

Vote out anyone who is voting for any unconstituional laws.Do not vote for anyone who will increase spending and taxes. It is time to take a stand.

We lose more of our liberty and freedom!

We are searched at the airport, we can be arrested and imprisoned without a trial, we can be stripsearched without being convicted on a crime, and now, the governmen is trying to be able to force companies like Verizon and FaceBook to hand over your private communications to government officials without a warrant.

It has passed the House so quickly that Ron Paul was not able to get back for the vote. It is now headed for the Senate.

I guess that the 4th Amendment to the Constitution has been ruled unconstitutional.

Only vote for candidats who will follow their oath to uphold the Constitution.

What is liberalism?

Sometimes, I wondered if I am really a conversative because I am concerned about the less fortunate. I wonder about the greed of big business. Then I read this Ludwig von Mises quote about liberalism.

Liberalism is no religion, no worldview, no party of special interests. It is no religion because it demands neither faith nor devotion, because there is nothing mystical about it, and because it has no dogmas. It is no worldview because it does not try to explain the cosmos, and because it says nothing and does not seek to say anything about the meaning and purpose of human existence. It is no party of special interests because it does not provide or seek to provide any special advantage whatsoever to any individual or any group. It is something entirely different. It is an ideology, a doctrine of the mutual relationship among the members of society and, at the same time, the application of this doctrine to the conduct of men in actual society. It promises nothing that exceeds what can be accomplished in society and through society. It seeks to give men only one thing: the peaceful, undisturbed development of material well-being for all, in order thereby to shield the m from the external causes of pain and suffering as far as it lies within the power of social institutions to do so at all. To diminish suffering, to increase happiness: That is its aim. No sect and no political party has believed that it could afford to forgo advancing its cause by appealing to men's senses. Rhetorical bombast, music and song resound, banners wave, flowers and colors serve as symbols and the leaders seek to attach their followers to their own person. Liberalism has nothing to do with all this. It has no party flower and no party color, no party song and no party idols, no symbols and no slogans. It has the substance and the arguments. These must lead it to victory.

This seems to be a great plan for a free society. Anyone who wants liberty, freedom, and independence should agree.

Government interference effects the market.

Anytime the government attempts to control the market, it creates effects that would not have happened it the government had left the market to itself. Therefore, the actions of government will determine who profits and who loses.

For instance, the government mandates seat belts in every car. The seat belt manufacturers made more profits. The auto manufacturers may have to install seat belts at below cost to remain competitive, so they may suffer a loss.

In today's economic condition, the government should reduce the red tape, eliminate the restrictive regulations, and lower the cost of starting and running a business.
