My neighborhood forbids commercial advertising on the front lawn, but the code
makes an exception for politicians running for office. If anything, it should be
the opposite. If I like a business, why should I be prohibited from putting their sign in my yard. If a political sign is OK, why not a business sign.
At least, the business only charges me for a service or product that I want or need. The government forces me to pay for things that I don't want. or use.
If my neighborhood doesn't like signs in our yard, then all signs should be prohibited.

Government Hypocrisy or Our Stupidity?
This is a letter to the editor in the Review Journal by Kenneth Heinz in Henderson
I agree 100%"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they have health insurance, but does not require everyone to prove they are a citizen. Now many of those who refuse to prove or are unable to prove they are citizens will receive free health care, paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."

In this post, I commented on the quote, “If voting changed anything,
they’d make it illegal.”.
It seems that everyone has a different opinion about who "they" is. It is the people in power. The people with money who control our government.
The problem is that "We" gave it to them. We didn't vote them out. We let them break their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. We reelected them.
We need to stop reelecting legislators who do not defend the Constitution.
The purpose of law and therefore the Constitution is to protect every individual's rights, liberty, and property. Therefore, it is unconstitutional to take your rights, or liberty, or property and give it to anyone else.

Obama revealed.
In a Review Journal article. Thomas Sowell told about a time when then Senator Obama spoke to a predominately black audience at Hampton University on June 5, 2007.
Obama charged that the federal government with not showing the same concern for the people of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit as they had shown for the people of New York after the 9/11 attacks, or the people of Florida after Hurricane Andrew hit.
He mentioned the Stafford Act, which requires communities receiving federal disaster relief to contribute 10 percent as much as the federal government does, was waived in New York and Florida, but not in New Orleans because the people in new orleans are predominately black.
Yet, less than two weeks earlier, the Senate voted to waive the act for New Orleans and Obama voted against waiving it.
It should come as no surprise that President Obama will raise taxes if he is re-elected. But here’s the shocker: He will invite the United Nations to tax Americans directly. And the proceeds would go directly to the Third World.
We must protect our rights, liberty, and property by electing people who will keep their oath to uphold the Constitution which is the law of our Country.

We are giving up our Sovereignty!
Our Congress is making treaties with the UN and other countries which may trump our laws and our Constitution.
Liberal justices, like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, have already urged using foreign law to interpret U.S. domestic laws – and now, if this convention is not stopped, the door will be left wide open to the trumping of our U.S. domestic laws with the whims of a U.N. "committee of experts"!
We must stop Congress from making treaties which gives up our sovereignty. One treaty under consideration is the Convention on Rights of Disabled Persons (CRDP). This treaty gives the UN considerable authority over parents rights in the United States.
We must elect legislators who will stop making dangerous treaties. We must protect our sovereignty.

The Illusion of Choice
These are parts of an article by Joel
Bowman in an article entitled, "The Illusion of Choice".
Tell me sir, “yes” or “no,” have you stopped beating your wife?
Simply put, the false dilemma is a sly trick of exclusion whereby a speaker (always generously) offers his or her audience the apparently favorable choice between two unfortunately poor options.
So profoundly have certain false dilemmas bored their way into people’s “thinking” that supposedly able-minded individuals have stricken the very possibility of free market cooperation from their mental map.
Indeed, some confused people even contend that, were we to ignore the iron-fisted directives of The State, we would promptly descend into a Mad Max-style dystopia, in which a collection of unchecked territorial monopolies would roam the planet, stealing and damaging property at whim and torturing, imprisoning and killing whomever they so wished.
Strange then that these same people would “remedy” this apocalyptic nightmare by supporting The State...a collection of unchecked territorial monopolies that roam the planet, stealing and damaging property at whim and torturing, imprisoning and killing whomever they so wish.
I mention this article because this is the reason that government has grown so large. We think that the only solution to a problem is to have the government solve it even when the government has proven over and over again that it is not an effecient problem solver. In fact, it ususally creates more problems than it solves.
