According to this article, the school district might have to lay off as many as 1300 employees, including 130 administrators and as many as 540 teachers.
Why are we laying off teachers. We should lay off more administrators and cut administrators salaries. Almost 50% of the budget goes to not administration. We have to spend the money on teaching and not administrating.
In an article the day before, it states that 5 employees received contract extensions with extra perks that will cost the district more than $100,000. Why are they giving raises to executives when they are firing teachers?
